Are your employees incessantly discussing cryptocurrencies instead of doing their work? Perhaps with the crypto-market’s recent ‘correction’, to put it nicely, employees in the office are bragging less about their gains and trying to hide their losses. Nonetheless, in one form or another, block-chain technology and cryptocurrencies are here to stay. Therefore, it is important for executives and CEOs to have, at the very least, a basic understanding of block-chain technology and the crypto-market and the role it may (or may not) play in their respective industries.

Questions CEOs and executives should ask themselves regarding blockchain and cryptocurrencies include:

CEO question

• Should my company accept cryptocurrencies as a payment option ?

• Should my company look into investing in cryptocurrencies or is it a financial bubble ?

• How can my company leverage blockchain technology to enhance its operations and productivity ?

• Is blockchain technology a potential solution to mitigating cyber theft ?

• Can blockchain technology increase the speed of transactions for my company ?

The following are some good resources to help you answer these questions and for general crypto-education:

1) Jameson Lopp’s site Bitcoin resources – This is a great site with lots and lots of valuable information. Lopp is a prominent bitcoin core developer and a noticeable Twitter user.]

2) Coursera online coursebitcoin and cryptocurrency technologies – this is actually a very good ramp up course.  Highly recommended !

3) Podcasts:

Some of my favorite podcast episodes:

Wences Casares (at Unchained) – Wences is Xapo’s CEO (one of the biggest cryptocurrency custodian services available), a PayPal board member and a really interesting guy.

Nick Szabo (at The Tim Ferris show) Nick Szabo is one of the guys suspected of being Satoshi Nakamoto, the one who invented Bitcoin. He is one of the founding fathers of the cryptocurrency and smart contracts idea as well as an extremely interesting personality.

This is Nick Szabo’s blog.

Some of my favorite podcast shows:

One of the better crypto podcasts available, the host interviews some very unique and informative guests.

A little more on the technical side, but not too much.

LTB Network – Let’s talk bitcoin network – this is an aggregation of a few different podcasts. Some are good whilst others, let’s just say, are not worth your time.

4) Twitter

Twitter is the best way to get your crypto related news and to see what’s going on. You can start by following:@NickSzabo4, @adam3us, @VitalikButerin, @SatoshiLite, @LukeDashjr, @eric_lombrozo, @lopp, @jimmysong, @VladZamfir, @pwuille.

5) Reddit

With more active users

than Twitter, Reddit, amongst other things, has become known as the home of crypto speculation and whispers. If you want to be the first to know about the latest developments in the crypto market, Reddit is the site to visit.

There are very few people in the world who truly understand both the technical computer science and the true financial value behind cryptocurrencies. Increasing your knowledge of cryptocurrencies, even incrementally, will deeply enhance your understanding of the challenges, risks and opportunities blockchain and the wider crypto market present in the future.

To contact DataToCapital

DataToCapital is a boutique management consulting firm that supports global tier-1 firms and start-up companies operating in Israel in their route to excellence and market dominance. Our core services, designed for CEOs, Executives (VP-level and above) and Entrepreneurs, can be divided into three areas: Market Intelligence, Corporate and Product Strategy, and Execution Support on top-down strategic initiatives.

The quality of the work we deliver in the three areas mentioned above is equivalent to what your company may already get from the top-3 consulting firms that operate in the Israeli market, BUT here’s the twist and why our tier-1 clients think we are superior.

We don’t only provide smart recommendations, we work closely with the management team and can also support driving the execution of their strategic initiatives behind the scenes or as a proxy.

We are at the strategic intersection of Business and Technology. Thanks to our rich background, we know how to connect the dots between the two worlds, and how to be very creative when it comes to disrupting business models or addressing sub-optimized processes with the help of advanced technological solutions (Machine Learning, Big Data, Data Visualization, Enterprise Software Solutions, and many other tools present in our toolbox).

This is a built-in feature. No account manager, no complex communication chain, etc... This is why our firm aims to dominate the management consulting market in Israel with no more than eight talents (...on steroids).

Our long-term vision is to become the trusted advisor to the most influential businesses and institutions operating in Israel, and help them become global leaders in their markets.
